Korn complete work on new album

Korn will release their new album, The Path of Totality on December 5.

The band have collaborated with the likes of Skrillex, Excision, Datsik, Noisia, Kill the Noise and 12th Planet on their 10th studio effort.

"The title The Path of Totality refers to the fact that in order to see the sun in a full solar eclipse, you must be in the exact right place in the exact right time," says Korn frontman Jonathan Davis. "That's how this album came together. I think all the producers feel the same way. I'm not sure it could ever happen again"

The album will be released in two formats: a 11-song CD and a special edition CD that will include bonus tracks as well as a DVD of The Encounter, a full length video concert of Korn's performance in the middle of a 900ft long crop circle in a Bakersfield field.

A dubstep album? Awful. just when Korn was showing signs of getting back to form.

Dubstep is a popular flash in the pan that will go back to the underground within a year.

@K99 You're very much right. Korn's electro-ish album SUCKED (See you on the other side) - a lot of people agree actually - so goodness knows what'll happen w/ DUBSTEP. I love Korn but this album (which should be original-Korn, NOT shitty dubstep) is what'll lead them to their demise...

Hey retards - who said it was going to be a dubstep album? D'oh!

woah chill out guys! this is only an experimental EP (NOT ALBUM) they are only trying new stuff out for this EP. When they come to doing an album they'll probably go back to do their old stuff :)

@MPD ... They did... In an interview a few weeks ago. Oh... And the fact that it was produced by a load of dubstep producers sort of give's it away too?

@Bilal It isn't an EP, it's a full album. Don't know where you got that from...
And as JD said, they have to be in the right place at the right time. They know Dubstep's not going to be big forever and they aren't changing their style completely, just doing one album of it. I personally liked SYONTS, but I know a lot of fans don't, but this album will sound like their newest single "Get Up" which is with Skrillex and from this album. If you listen to it, they don't change their style that much, it just has Dubstep incorporated into it, like most electronic artists would do to songs anyway. Just a remix album without the original versions included, think of it like that. If you don't like it, don't complain, just wait to see what they bring out next.

My only hope is that some Korn fan walks into a store and picks up Path of Totality by Tombs instead. Korn gave up any semblance of musical relevance about ten years ago.

Considering the only song that Korn has released for this album so far is "Get Up", every one seems to think it's going to be awful. Not me. I love Metal but Dupstep (in it's heavier side) is just as good. Hell, have you people listened to Noisia? It's It's a heavy, dark, electric mind f*** that takes you on a journey, much like Korn.

"Get Up" was a wonderful mix of the two genres and compliment each other very well. We will have to wait for the album to come out before every one starts banging on about how Korn has lost there way. So far I think they have done an epic job.

Hopefully if Korn do make a dubstep album, they'll keep their passion and not sacrifice their seven-string-guitar roots. If they do, they won't last long - they'll be MCR-like-sell outs. But I'm sure that won't happen and Korn will sound great nonetheless :)
