Young Guns to release new single tonight

Young Guns are putting the finishing touches to their brand new album, the follow-up to All Our Kings Are Dead.

The band will be debuting a new track Learn My Lesson from this forthcoming release this evening (October 13) on Zane Lowe's show on Radio One.

They will simutaneously release the single online.

"We debated long and hard about which single to pick as the first from the new record," says vocalist Gustav Wood. "It's an album with real texture and variation to it, so making the right choice felt really important. It feels like a bridge between some of our older material and the songs that are on the new album. The song is about embracing the moment and not locking yourself away, and has a defiant attitude that I love. I can't wait for everyone to hear it."

The band will release their new album in February on Play It Again Sam.

I've followed YG from 2008 and all i can say is that the new song is outstanding. words cant describe how amazing Young guns are, and seeing them go from strength to strength its honestly amazing !!

@T. I understand what you're saying completely. Fame has gone to their heads. I mean what little "Fame" they have anyway, this interview sickened me.

They go on about their new album, supporters, success, and themselves in general.

It's a good song but it sounds exactly the same as the stuff of the first album. I thought they might experiment with their sound a bit more.

@T @The Messiah, what are you on about? All bands change style, it's not because they're sellouts it's just part of evolving as musicians, check out Sum41 for instance, their music is completely different now compared to their older songs, just means what they perceive to be an expression of their music has changed. Personally can't wait for the new album!!

This band are growing. I do think Gus has become more arrogant. But so was Kurt Cobain. I think this band will blow up. Their melodies are the best I'm hearing just now. Gus, be who you want to be but dont act like a dick if you arent one.

I can't quite grasp where this arrogant comments are coming from! Gus is a lovely guy, always a pleasure to bump into him at shows and while the fanbase does keep growing and growing, he (and the rest of the band, of course) take far more time out to chat etc than any other band I've come across. They're incredibly humble, as far as I can tell.

As for the song (which is the reason why I'm on this page in the first place!), I love it. Took a few listens and didn't grab me quite as quickly as some of their older stuff, but it's still magnificent and has gone on to be, what I think, their strongest single yet. I hope that this is the one to get them the recognition they deserve; they're hard working guys and I'll back John-Mark up here by saying their melodies are a force to be reckoned with.
