Green Day stormed the MTV 2012 Video Music Awards last night (September 6).
The band performed Let Yourself Go - taken from the forthcoming ¡Uno! - at Los Angeles' Staple Centre surrounded by fans, with frontman Billie Joe Armstrong mobbed at the song's finale. Video footage can be viewed now on the MTV website.
The performance came just days after Armstrong was discharged from hospital following what bassist Mike Dirnt described as "severe dehydration".
"He woke up in the morning and it was bad," Dirnt said. "Let's put it this way, if you're in your hotel room and you're vomiting profusely, it's not fun. So what are you gonna do? It's hard to sing while you're puking." The illness led to the band cancelling a show in Bologna, Italy.
