Converge were lucky to escape injury last night after their van was involved in an accident while en route to Seattle.
The band are currently touring the US in support of new album All We Love We Leave Behind. A statement on the band's official Facebook read:
"Yesterday, after ten hours of driving, we hit black ice in the Oregon mountains. We were forced to crash into a highway divider in order to keep from sliding under 18 wheelers. Though we were all alright, we were precariously stuck facing the wrong direction on the highway for a few hours. With a little ingenuity and the help of a highway worker with some tow chains, we managed to pry our bumper off our front wheels. A few hours later, we were back on the road. Never take anything for granted."
The show in Seattle later that evening went ahead as planned.
