People should check out The Messiahs abuse of children under the last previous issue. This person is nothing but a lowlife yellow belly cowardly bully. Give this fucker as much abuse as he gives others. Bullies and cowards can be beaten. I have told him / her that I want to meet up to sort his abuse our but, typical scumbag shitting cowardly yello chickenshit bully that he/she is, he/she ain't got the guts to front up.

Everyone please do not respond to the above comment by me as I have had to report The Messiah to the police.

Posted by Ryan | December 12, 2012 9:31 PM | Reply to this

Now that's slanderous and will be forwarded to the police.

Posted by The Messiah | December 12, 2012 9:34 PM | Reply to this

Don't you remember my proposal, Ryan?

I'll meet you on top of an ancient Mayan temple on December 21st, as the skies part and the ancient god Quetzalcoatl returns from the heavens.

But I must warn you, I'm a red and black belt in the art of Jo Son-do, the practice of prison shankings and not understanding the meaning of the word "no".

Hiyaa!

Posted by The Messiah | December 12, 2012 9:42 PM | Reply to this

I want to clear the topic away from the schoolyard style insults thrown back and forth here for a minute, and waffle about the MUSIC.

Has anybody checked out the Kerrang staff's albums of the year on the site itself yet???

Man, what a great, vast array of quality artists and albums, that were rightfully chosen by all involved. = I will argue a vote for the legend that is Mr. Devin Townsend in there, but thats just me!!!=

Anyway lads, the point I want to make concerns the criticism chucked at Kerrang all the time concerning their continuous coverage of the same old safe band over and over and over again- something that, as a long time reader (since the early-mid 90s!), I have written my opinion on a lot here over the weeks. And its something that lots and lots of other readers have talked about here aswell.

Judging by YMA6 and BVB on the cover all the time, youd think that thats all the staff itself listen to themselves.

But WAIT!-- Look at the fantastic, diverse selection of bands in the list- from punk, metal, doom, and everything in between . Man, theres some class music thrown in there.

Yet== why the hell does the magazine not cover those bands more, then? If the staff listen to and love all this great stuff, why the Hell do they always cover the same oul' things? I said it to ye before that kerrang has to do that, to appease the younger audience, who perhaps wouldnt buy the magazine if say, Chino from Deftones got the cover, or if any of their preferred, personal choice of band would grace the cover, or gain more footage inside.

Man, if the magazine would return to being more diverse and actually start covering and writing more about the bands that it actually WANTS to, rather than what it HAS to, it would be amazing!!

Guys, I might indeed be a bit of an old fart in contrast to y'all, but when I hear a kick ass song- Im as ageless as the rest of ya fell with your own favourite bands. When ya advance a few more years, and look back at the insults and jibes ya wrote here, youll laugh- cos the chances are that the new, next generation will be slinging even worst shit at eachother!!!! Peace to ye all!!

Oh, and listen to Devin Townsend!! Epicloud is the album of the year, according to me!

If you don't like the bangs in the magazine then why read it? I hate things like on direction so I don't read top of the pops magazine it simple!

Posted by Eilish | December 13, 2012 10:59 AM | Reply to this

Thank you, Skye.

Yeah, I just had to barge in there and divert the traffic away from where it was going. I wanna talk about the actual MUSIC in the mag, and contrast the content of the magazine with the actual tastes of the staff who write it.
Just look at their top 10s. Some cool stuff on there, but they cant cover it they way they would like or Used to. And thatsa pity. Id love it if the likes of Stone Sour, Gojira, Deftones, and others that you just know theyd much prefer to cover would appear on the cover itself- but 'tis a pity that Kerrang cant gamble on that.

I remember just over 10 years back , when alongside the Slipknots, and Limp Bizkits, youd get anything from the Strokes to Emperor on the cover. The ninties were great too- different , diverse bands every week. Nowadays, 'tis the same bands all the time, weather its the cover or the posters.
My point- and others here say the same, is that it wasnt always like that, and that I think the staff themselves would love to cover the bands that they themselves love to listen to -as seen by their top 10 lists.

Anyone who fires back "Oh, dont read it then, if you dont like whatya see", is totally missing the point. Those readers have obviously bot been following the magazine long enough to realise that it wasnt always stuck to the same scene all the time. . I bought it first when I was 14- the era of Nirvana- but the magazine didnt change its format to suit little grungers like me. Oh, no.

The majority of readers out there are rightfully putting their views across, because they dont want to see the exact same bands on the cover all the time- thats what the issue is. You might be into YMA6 and all those bands- and thats grand. I dont hate those bands at all, just not my cuppa tea.

But lemmy ask you young guns out there-- If Kerrang shunned YMA6, BVB MCR and All time Low from the covers for a good while-and chances are it will anyway if their popularity declines over the next coupla years---- and ditched the obligatory compensation of an 8 page poster pull-out of them aswell, in favour of different, diverse bands on the cover, like it used to---would ya be as inclined to buy it as much??

Posted by Jason | December 14, 2012 1:53 PM | Reply to this

Totally agree with Jason. Have no gripes whatsoever with Enter Shikari taking top spot as its a very good album. Opinions will invariably differ but my top 3 would be L'enfant Sauvage by Gojira, On The Impossible Past by The Menzingers and Dead Silence by Billy Talent. So there's a bit of death / thrash / rock / punk / hardcore / metal all thrown in the mix there and so glad to see the same variety and more in Kerrangs choices. Variety is indeed the spice of life.

Does anyone know where to get this in Australia. Sydney, to be exact?

Posted by Stella | December 17, 2012 10:16 AM | Reply to this

hey Ryan I totally agree when you mentioned the bullies should get a load of abuse in the way of evil braindeaded bullies and cowards, im a massive fan of my chemicaal romance and remember watching an interview with the lead singer gerard way and recall him mentioning that the bullies are totally braindeaded bored jealous of people like us and they actaully take their anger and frustration out on us and at the same time they make us appear to be an outsider that we are scum of the earth so it is! I have been bullied myself and to read your comments from people like you inspire me thanks Ryan keep on rocking and have a great merry keriiistmas yohl :)

Posted by Kieran | December 17, 2012 11:05 AM | Reply to this

@kieran
Thank you for the kind comments. I'm sorry to hear that you have been bullied and hope that the situation has been improved. I'm not taking on the role of some martyr or some superhero but I cannot stand people who abuse / bully others. Especially when done on line because that is hurtful and cowardly. I just want to challenge the abusive ones to show that they aren't hard or better in any shape or form, and that people can stand up to bullies. I have never been bullied myself thankfully but hate to see it happening around me. I don't advicate violence at all but it's us ironic that bullies tend to back down when confronted. I would advise any victims however to seek support rather than attemp to retaliate. Anyway, I also love My Chemical Romance and saw them with LostAlone and The Blackout last year. They were superb live! Have a good Christas too. Cheers.

Hey, this issue was... AMAZING! But the 2013 calendar in this issue was the icing on the cake. I actually am going to use it in my bedroom, just another decoration for my wall. I may not necessarily like all the bands in there, but hey, it's a nice calendar. And can you argue with a free calendar???

Posted by Debra | December 17, 2012 8:11 PM | Reply to this

Thank you Ryan, i thought i would send you an instant reply as I was using my name instead of my friend kazza who has special needs and was bullied because of her mild special needs severe learning disability! However she's more of a fan of mcr as gereard way is her favourite rock idol, the bullies have been sorted out ages ago however she is enjoying life now and even swam with dolphins in portugal where she had achieved her longlife ambition wahoo! We both hope you have got things sorted out in the way of bullies and cowards moving on have a awesome rocking keriiistmas :)
