K.Flay has teamed up with Pierce The Veil frontman Vic Fuentes for her new single Irish Goodbye.

The track is taken from K.Flay's upcoming studio album MONO, due for release on September 15 via Giant Music.

Speaking about the writing the emotionally-charged song, K.Flay – real name Kristine Flaherty – says, “I was screaming in the demo to that song and eventually I realised, ‘I have a friend who screams professionally, so maybe I should get him on this!’”

MONO is K.Flay's fifth full-length record, written after waking up in August last year with total hearing loss in her right ear. She didn't know if she could ever make music again.

“For a while it was upsetting to even listen to music, so at some point I had to ask myself, ‘Can I still do this? Do I still want to?’” she says. But before long, she found herself returning to the studio.

“I felt an urgency I hadn’t experienced in quite some time,” she reveals. “It was like this massive sensory change had put me back into a beginner’s mind, where I felt so free but also compelled to put everything I had into making the record great.”

MONO is out September 15 via Giant Music.
