Australian Hardcore Crew Cursed Earth To Hit The UK
A “five-piece ball of destruction” is how the Holy Roar label describes Perth, Australia quintet Cursed Earth. And they should know a thing or two about the band, having put out their Enslaved By The Insignificant collection in 2016 as a two-track flexidisc (!) accompanied by an 11-track download.
A curious release model, maybe, but essential music nonetheless. And it’s music that’s hitting the UK in October 2017, as Cursed Earth tour in support of fellow Perth outfit Make Them Suffer, the deathcore act currently supporting their Rise Records-released Worlds Apart LP.
If you’re new to Cursed Earth, we’ve got you. Think Code Orange. Think Harm’s Way. Think Break Even. Even think Oathbreaker, at times. In the band’s own words, in a Kill Your Stereo interview of last year, they “formed as a reaction to the lack of genuinely energetic, heavy and dark hardcore music in our scene”.
Check out the video for Cursed Earth’s War March/Broken below.
Lyrically, they’re drawing on “honest perspectives from our own experience, or the experience of others dealing with the human experience – injustice, depression, anxiety, trauma, anger, disease and oppression”.
