Kelli Wright-Laiho says she is "completely broken" after the tragic passing of her husband Alexi.

Following the devastating passing of the legendary Alexi Laiho, the musician's widow Kelli Wright-Laiho has thanked fans for their support as she reveals she is "completely broken" by this tremendous loss.

"Thank you all so much for your beautiful energy and support," she posted on Instagram. "I’m taking time out to grieve our enormous loss with our immediate Finnish and Australian family. Understandably, as you are, we’re completely broken but wanted you to know, We love and appreciate you all so much."

Alexi's former Children Of Bodom bandmates – bassist Henkka Seppälä, drummer Jaska Raatikainen and keyboardist Janne Wirman – paid tribute to their fallen "brother" earlier this week.

"The world lost a phenomenal songwriter and one of the greatest guitarists of all time," they said. "Memories and Alexi’s music will live forever. Our thoughts are with Alexi’s family during this difficult time."

Tragically, Kelli's previous Instagram post was one of her and her husband sharing a kiss with the caption: "If you believe in someone and they believe in you right back, you can do any fuckin thing in the world."
