blink-182 bassist/vocalist Mark Hoppus has shared that he's been "undergoing chemotherapy for cancer" for the past three months.

blink-182's Mark Hoppus has announced that he's been diagnosed with cancer.

Sharing a statement on social media, the 49-year-old pop-punk legend wrote that he's been "undergoing chemotherapy for cancer" for the past three months, with "months of treatment" still ahead of him.

"For the past three months I've been undergoing chemotherapy for cancer," Mark said. "I have cancer. It sucks and I'm scared, and at the same time I'm blessed with incredible doctors and family and friends to get me through this.

"I still have months of treatment ahead of me but I'm trying to remain hopeful and positive. Can't wait to be cancer free and see you all at a concert in the near future. Love to you all."

Mark also shared a photo on his Instagram stories of him in a hospital with the caption: "Yes hello. One cancer treatment, please."

Mark's blink bandmate Travis Barker told E! News following the public announcement: "Mark is my brother and I love and support him. I will be with him every step of the way onstage and off and can't wait for us to play together again soon."

Tom DeLonge also took to Twitter to say: "I too, have been aware of Mark Hoppus' cancer diagnosis for awhile now. And to add to his own words that he used today, I would also like to say that he is strong, and a super-human who is pushing through this difficult obstacle with a wide-open heart. #WeHaveHisBack"

Everyone at Kerrang! sends our love to you, Mark.
