#FooThrax: See Dave Grohl join Anthrax in the studio

With Anthrax in the studio working on the follow-up to 2016’s For All Kings, drummer Charlie Benante thanked Dave Grohl for “coming by and giving us a jolt”.

Fresh from drumming with boygenius earlier this month, Dave Grohl has clearly been keen to stay behind the kit – as he showed with his recent trip to see Anthrax in the studio.

With the thrash titans hard at work on the follow-up to 2016’s For All Kings, the Foo Fighters legend stopped by to give them “a jolt”, according to drummer Charlie Benante. And not only did his visit clearly lift proceedings, but at the request of Charlie he even busted out a bit of Nirvana’s Scentless Apprentice on the drums while he was there. Hell yeah! Taking to Instagram afterwards, Anthrax then excitedly shared that, “New album is going to be awesome #FooThrax”

Meanwhile, on November 13 producer Jay Ruston said that work had started on the vocals, and he praised frontman Joey Belladonna for being “a trooper, and he can sing and sing for hours”. Joey himself shared: “Every take I do has to be full of energy and full of impact, so I’m knocking down every chair in the room to get to the other side, just trying to get something really, really magical.”
