Listen To The Pretty Reckless' Powerful New Single, 25

Taylor Momsen gets autobiographical in the brand-new The Pretty Reckless single.

Fresh from the official announcement of their upcoming fourth album Death By Rock And Roll, The Pretty Reckless have shared an incredibly powerful new single, 25.

"25 is an interesting song that came from a lot of different places," says singer Taylor Momsen – who is on absolutely stunning form throughout the track. "It was the first song we recorded for the record in early 2019. I had just turned 25 when we wrote it. In a way, it's an autobiography and hopefully shows that this album really ventures out into new territory with the music."

Speaking to Kerrang! back in May about Death By Rock And Roll and the emotional journey she went on to make it, Taylor said that the loss of one of her heroes, Chris Cornell, as well as the death of her friend and producer less than a year later, sent her into an "extraordinarily dark downward spiral".

"It took time," Taylor continued of the process of healing, "and it sounds clichéd, but it was music that was the thing that brought me back to life. I couldn’t do anything. I couldn’t function, I couldn’t leave my house, I couldn’t talk to anyone – I was a mess. And so the only thing that I could turn to was music and that eventually led to me just writing how I was feeling. It was like going back to childhood, really, and writing another diary that was my best friend, the only person I could talk to. And it turned into this record, which essentially I consider to be a rebirth."

Death By Rock And Roll is due out on February 12 via Century Media. Check out 25 below:
