Pete Wentz reflects on Kim Kardashian's appearance in Fall Out Boy's Thnks Fr Th Mmrs video

Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz has joked about Thnks Fr Th Mmrs being the last time the band "had the same amount of fame" as Kim Kardashian.

After launching his new Loud And Sad radio show earlier this week, Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz reflected on the band's iconic Thnks Fr Th Mmrs video – featuring a guest appearance from Kim Kardashian.

"I remember we had Kim Kardashian in the video for this song," the bassist and lyricist said. "It’s just so interesting when you look back on that moment and you’re like, 'This is the last moment Fall Out Boy interacted in public with Kim Kardashian where we had the same amount of fame as her.' It’s funny when you look back at this stuff. Thanks for the memories, Kim.”

Pete also revealed that the main inspiration for the Infinity On High single was seeing 2001 musical comedy Josie And The Pussycats – which also then led to R&B singer Babyface producing both Thnks Fr Th Mmrs and the song I'm Like A Lawyer…

"After From Under The Cork Tree, we went and saw the movie Josie And The Pussycats," he recalled. "Me and Patrick [Stump, vocals/guitar] were at it, and I was like, 'Whoa, who wrote the music for this? Because it sounds like punk music written by somebody who’s never heard punk music before. We need them to produce the next album.’ And it was Babyface.”

Explaining the premise of his wide-ranging new show, Pete said: "You’ve really got to think about this as moments meeting from divergent courses, somewhere in the realm of the TV show Curb Your Enthusiasm meets the movie Drive. And this is what Loud And Sad Radio is… It doesn’t have to be loud and it doesn’t have to be sad, but there’s some things that just have that vibe. Loud And Sad is a vibe to me.”

In 2018, Pete told People about Kim: “I stay in touch with her a little bit – just emails here and there. I ran into her, and she was probably the nicest person ever. She’s exactly the same as she was then, except she’s, like, a trillion times more famous."
