Watch Dave Grohl Shotgun A Beer Onstage With Santa

Dave Grohl and Father Christmas enjoyed a beer together at a recent Foo Fighters show.

Just as we'd expect, Dave Grohl isn't afraid to get into the Christmas spirit nice and early, having downed a beer with Santa Claus at Foo Fighters' show in Las Vegas this weekend.

The frontman invited a fan in the front row wearing a Father Christmas outfit up onstage while the band were performing at the Intersect Festival on December 7, joking, “Look at him, you ain’t gettin’ down the chimney tonight.”

The pair shotgunned a beer each as Foos then launched into 1995 single Big Me, before closing with the epic one-two smash of Best Of You and Everlong. Check out fan-filmed footage of Dave's hilarious interaction with Santa below.

In other Foos news, Dave recently teased that the band's new album – the follow-up to 2017’s brilliant Concrete And Gold – is “fucking weird”.

“I don’t want to give away too much, but… we’re, like, right in the middle of it right now,” he revealed. Could a Santa Claus cameo be on the cards after the Vegas show now? Let's wait and see…

Dave’s comments follow those of Foos drummer Taylor Hawkins, who told Kerrang! that the frontman is plotting a big 2020 – with potential plans to mark the 25th anniversary of the band’s self-titled debut, too.

“There’s a lot of talk, and I think Dave is already mapping out what he wants the next record to be, so I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s something coming down the pipe,” he said. “I can’t 100 per cent spell it out for you for sure, because I’m always the last to know and I don’t want to give it away. But I would imagine there will be something made of the 25th year of the Foo Fighters, for sure. You know us, we never stop.”
