Watch: Foo Fighters Go Acoustic For Save Our Stages Fundraising Set

The Foo Fighters took to the stage at Los Angeles' iconic Troubadour for virtual benefit festival Save Our Stages.

This weekend, Foo Fighters took to the stage for only the third time in 2020, playing a very special acoustic set for virtual benefit event Save Our Stages.

Dave Grohl and the gang hit Los Angeles' iconic Troubadour for a charming and impassioned five-song performance, raising money and awareness for struggling independent venues across America.

As well as performing stripped-down versions of a bunch of colossal smash singles like My Hero and Everlong, the band also spoke of the importance of Save Our Stages festival, and how COVID is wreaking havoc on so many of our favourite venues all around the world.

"It's crucial that we do everything we can to make sure that these venues survive in order to inspire the next generation of musicians to go on and do beautiful things with their lives like make music," said Dave. "So please donate anything you can, ’cause we're really hoping that we can save these smaller venues."

The rock titans also shared memories of their own experiences within these smaller rooms – including The Troubadour in particular – with Dave telling the crowd viewing the set online: "As you've heard from all the stories we've told each of us has had some pretty amazing experiences in this club, but there are lots of smaller venues like this around the world that need your support right now."

"These memories and experiences that we have here were life-changing and formative experiences that inspired us to play music. I can only imagine there are millions and millions of other people just like us that have done the same and it's made their lives a better place."
