Watch This Incredible Violin Cover Of Slipknot's Unsainted

This violinist turns Slipknot's Unsainted into something a little more classical

As you’re no doubt aware, YouTube is awash with reimaginings of Slipknot songs. This year alone, The Devil In I has been covered on a cello and Unsainted was smashed out of the park by a 14-year-old drummer.

Now? It’s time for the violin!

YouTuber M DRAKO has posted a video of her stringed interpretation of Slipknot’s gargantuan hit Unsainted, taken from this year’s 5K-rated album We Are Not Your Kind.

It turns out that M DRAKO is a dab hand at turning metal tracks into something more classical, having already shared performances of Lamb Of God’s Laid To Rest and a bunch of Avenged Sevenfold tracks including Lost and Unholy Confessions.

Check out her Unsainted cover below:

Speaking to Kerrang! about the track Unsainted earlier this year, guitarist Jim Root said: “Before we even started writing this record, Clown had been like, ‘I want to get a choir.’ He was thinking in terms of a children’s choir, like a Pink Floyd – The Wall kind of thing, but we ended up getting a regular choir, and they took a version of the melody line from the original guitar line that started the demo song, which is a variation of the chorus riff. The choir did what they did, and to me it turned out to be pretty epic. I heard someone compare it to You Can’t Always Get What You Want by The Rolling Stones, and I think that’s a pretty ambitious comparison, but I’ll certainly take it (laughs).”

Slipknot’s sixth album We Are Not Your Kind is out now.

They are touring the UK and Ireland next year with Behemoth. Get your tickets now.
