Watch Twin Atlantic's New Video For Novocaine

Twin Atlantic have unleashed a new video for their latest single, Novocaine.

Following the return of Twin Atlantic with their epic comeback single Novocaine, the Scottish rockers have now unleashed a video for the track.

Frontman Sam McTrusty says of the Alex Nicholson-directed clip: “The collage approach to Alex’s idea was really appealing to us. It’s the exact same way we have been approaching writing lyrics on this album. A sound or a colour evoke a feeling or a memory and you chase that down a rabbit hole and see what it unravels from your subconscious. To have a director listen to the song and get that was lucky. Working to the limitations of just red, green and blue lighting was another way this ties into the record. We’ve found that by limiting ourselves we actually use more of our imagination and creativity.”

Director Alex, meanwhile, adds: "I really wanted to create something different for this incredibly powerful song. I wanted the viewer to feel, to live the lyrics and to ignore everything else around them; just digest what they were watching. It’s a sensory experience. Put on your headphones, ignore everything else around you and immerse yourself in the epic sound and visuals.”

Novocaine is taken from Twin's forthcoming album Power, which is due out on January 24 via Virgin EMI. Of the themes of the LP, Sam expands: “The album is inspired by colours, moods, memories. We just got into a room and started creating. The studio as its own instrument reached a new level – we created nothing outside those walls and it became a physical embodiment of the album itself. Power is our own example that there’s always a way forward when you are faced with limitations and red lights. It’s reignited our ambition and drive for what we can achieve. Hearing these songs, that’s what I feel and hear: power.

“And that’s what the last two years have made us feel as a band: totally empowered.”
