Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has released a cover of I Think We're Alone Now, recorded in his bedroom while we're all in isolation.

Under normal circumstances, Green Day would have been in Asia right now, gearing up for shows in Singapore, Bangkok, Manila, Taipei, Hong Kong, Seoul, Osaka and Tokyo in support of their recent 4K-rated album Father Of All…. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, of course, those dates were postponed, and the band are back home isolating and doing their bit to prevent the spread of COVID-19 further.

With that in mind, frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has just unveiled a cover of I Think We're Alone Now – which was originally written and composed by Ritchie Cordell and released by Tommy James & The Shondells, but made even more famous in 1987 thanks to Tiffany Darwish's cover version.

"While we’ve all been in quarantine I’ve been reflecting on the things that matter the most in my life," the musician says. "Family, friends and of course music. I recorded a cover of Tommy James & The Shondells' I Think We're Alone Now in my bedroom.

"I figure if we have to spend this time in isolation at least we can be alone together."

Just awesome. Check it out below:
