There’s no real science behind that — the concept was first publicized as part of a 2005 press release from holiday company Sky Travel, who claimed to have calculated the date using an equation”. It was all a ruse to get people to book holidays in January.

Whatever though — it does feel pretty grim at the moment, and we’re all kinda bummed to be getting up in the dark while also being broke and out of shape from our holiday shenanigans. We thought maybe you’d be feeling like that to, and that you’d be into a little self-help in the form of some relentlessly positive jams, because cynical PR campaign or not, good vibes are important to maintain in this crazy mixed-up world. Enjoy:
