What Happened When Tool Headlined Download 2019
Thirteen years after they last played Donington, Tool returned to the top of the bill at Download festival. And boy oh boy, was it worth the wait.
Going up against Slayer’s final ever UK show is no easy task, but while the circle pits erupted at the second stage, thousands gathered to have their minds blown by one of the rarest sights in all of heavy music – a live Tool show in England.
Surrounded by glistening lights and spectacular visuals, the immersive, sensory overload of Maynard James Keenan and co. blasted out a flawless performance of The Pot, Stinkfist, Schism plus the two new numbers Invincible and Descending.
What an experience.
