Holding Absence invite fans down to hang out and some vegan food in London
Yesterday in London, Welsh post-hardcore crew Holding Absence railed against paid meet and greets.
Taking place at the Temple Of Seitan vegan restaurant in Camden on December 12, Holding Absence invited their fans down to hang out and meet the band (and enjoy some meat-free food).
"We collectively believe that asking fans to pay money just to meet us isn't morally acceptable, especially when we owe everything we have to our fans," the band told Kerrang!.
"This doesn't necessarily mean we're totally against VIP experiences or acoustic sets etc in future, but you can rest assured we will never charge fans just to meet/have pictures with us.

"We figured an Eat N' Greet could be a cool idea as we're all veggie or vegan and would love to support local vegan food businesses – which as our fans know, we'll usually be at before our shows anyway."
The foodie fan event took place just hours before Holding Absence's headline show at Scala in London, which followed a year of touring in support of their debut self-titled album released in March.
"We feel we have a very special connection to our fans and we all have fond memories of being able to chat/have quality time with the bands that inspired us.
"The bands that actually gave us that time when we were younger have remained our favourites now."
