Kids' Band With 8-Year-Old Singer Cover Slipknot's The Devil In I

Have you ever wondered what Slipknot would sound like played by a band just a fraction of their age? Well today is your lucky day!

In the below video, six metalheads (some of whom aren't even old enough to watch the new Spider-Man movie) blast through Slipknot's 2014 gangbuster The Devil In I. You might think nobody can emulate Corey Taylor's barbed snarls, but eight-year-old Taylor Jade Campbell gives it both barrels! We could be looking at a future Download festival headliner.

Here's the whole band:

Lead vocals: Taylor Jade Campbell (age 8)
Drums: Nate Tharp (age 14)
Piano: Anna I (age 14)
Bass: Noah Williams (age 15)
Lead guitar: Eli Dykstra (age 17)
Rhythm guitar: Aiden Combs (age 17)
Backing vocals: Crowd of kids (ages 5-18)

In the clip, the band are told by The Man not to play Slipknot in the garage, but you know how kids are… Instantly the unnamed band launch into The Devil In I, causing a bunch of children from the neighbourhood to smash up the garage door and trash a lawnmower. A pretty accurate response, tbf.

The video was put together by The O'Keefe Music Foundation, an organisation that provides talented young musicians the means to play and record music.

Slipknot’s huge U.S. tour is set to kick off at the end of the month.

The band recently announced an “immersive exhibit” that will be available to attend at the shows, detailing a journey “from throughout the band’s history complete with instruments, memorabilia, wardrobe and personal never-before-seen items”.
