Mike Shinoda has announced details of a new solo record, one which he's made via Twitch with the help of fans.

Titled Dropped Frames, Vol. 1, the Linkin Park vocalist's album will be released on July 10 via his Kenji Kobayashi Productions label. But rather than creating an album while locked away in his home studio, guided by input from producers or other musicians, Mike's upcoming record was made through his Twitch channel with assistance from his fans.

“Dropped Frames is just as much about the live channel as it is about the ‘album’,” Mike provided in a statement to Spin. “The collection of songs is a highlight reel of the tracks I make on the channel, but a big part of the experience is the stream itself.

"When I start, I usually have very little idea of where it will go. What comes out is a product of the viewers’ suggestions, my spur-of-the-moment ideas, and whatever inexplicable magic is floating in between."

To mark the announcement, Mike has released three new tracks from the album – Open Door, Osiris and Super Galaxtica – which you can listen to below. There's a lot going on, they're pretty wild.

Earlier this year, to mark the 20th anniversary of Hybrid Theory, Mike created a "Hybrid Theory-style demo" on Twitch as part of his CoronaJam series.
