New Member Appears With BABYMETAL At Glastonbury?

Today (June 30), kawaii metal supremos BABYMETAL made their Glastonbury festival debut, and the Fox God sent a special member for their first UK show in just over 12 months (and their first since original member Yuimetal departed).

Performing on the Other Stage this afternoon, BABYMETAL blasted through an eight-song set that included new track PA PA YA!!, megahit Gimme Chocolate!! and an unknown new track, presumably from their upcoming third album METAL GALAXY.

But original members Su-Metal and Moametal weren't alone, they were joined onstage by an Riho Sayashi, member of the Japanese pop group Morning Musume. This isn't the first time Riho has performed with BABYMETAL though, making her debut with the Metal Resistance in June this year at the Yokohama Arena in Japan.

Check out her performance in gif form below:

There has been no official word yet on whether Riho will be a permanent fixture in BABYMETAL or is just joining for the UK run, which includes a headline show at Brixton Academy in London on Tuesday July 2.

Original BABYMETAL member Yuimetal deptarted in 2018, leaving the Japanese metallers to continue as a two-piece (with Kami band).

The full Glastonbury performance is expected to be uploaded to BBC iPlayer soon.

BABYMETAL's new album METAL GALAXY will be released on October 11.
