Paramore are continuing to ramp up the excitement for their next chapter, teasing a snippet of a brand-new song and announcing two special headline shows in Los Angeles.

After launching a Discord and unveiling a track teaser recently, the band have shared another clip of what is presumably the same song – just a different part (FYI, both previews already sound great). Their website is also pointing to a big announcement on September 19, with a cryptic calendar reading that on that day, they will ‘start spreading the news’.

Prior to that, the calendar shared dates that read ‘9.1 – discord’, ‘9.7 – blank’, ‘9.9 – wr0ng’, and ‘9.12 – LA’ – the latter of which refers to the date that Paramore announced their two LA gigs. Elsewhere, the dates September 16 and September 28 are listed but with nothing written next to them, but they must be significant in some way?!

In January 2022, Hayley Williams told Rolling Stone of new Paramore material: “We wrote and tracked something we loved and it actually surprised us. We kept joking it was all downhill from that point, but thank God we’ve been surprised a lot throughout this whole thing. I’m always waiting for the moment for us to know we’re onto something new and we’re not just rehashing the same shit. It was Ain’t It Fun for our self-titled record, and Hard Times or Told You So for After Laughter.”

The singer also teased that: “Our output has always been all over the place and with this project, it’s not that different. We’re still in the thick of it but some things have remained consistent from the start. 1) More emphasis back on the guitar, and 2) Zac should go as Animal as he wants with drum takes.”
