Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder Is Teaching Fans How To Vote By Mail With His New Instagram Account

Following Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong's recent urgent plea to fans to register to vote, another fellow rock titan is doing his part to encourage people to make a difference in the upcoming U.S. election in November: Eddie Vedder.

The Pearl Jam vocalist/guitarist has now joined Instagram to spread this crucial message, going as far as to post step-by-step photos detailing how to vote by mail, having done just that himself back in July for the August primary in Seattle (where he lives).

"Piece of cake," Eddie wrote of his July postal vote. "In regards to something so huge as taking part in our democracy and putting your voices to great use, nothing could be easier. And at this intense time of a global pandemic, even more importantly, nothing could be SAFER."

Posting eight selfies in total including himself reading the Official Local Voters' Guide, filling in the ovals, signing the ballot and finally proudly displaying an application to get the "I voted!" sticker, Ed's handy guide really couldn't be simpler.

"You’ve just participated in the SINGLE GREATEST FORM OF NON-VIOLENT PROTEST," he summarised. "Your voice will be heard. And speaking as a bit of a singer myself, I know that can be a pretty good feeling."
