This EP is an amuse-bouche. It heralds Like Moths To Flames’ signing to Australian independent label UNFD – home to the likes of Northlane, Hellions and Ocean Grove – although its contents won’t come as a surprise to anyone familiar with the Ohio quartet’s four albums to date. That’s no bad thing, given the quality of those past efforts, which married ambitious songwriting and dynamic performances to exquisite production.

Opening single All That You Lost confirms those trademarks haven’t been casualties in this move, though its busyness, and that of the similarly fully-stocked Smoke And Mirrors and Into The Black, showcase a predilection for a ‘more is more’ ethos that doesn’t always best serve their intentions.

So while it’s commendable to condense an album’s worth of ideas into just three tracks, it’ll be intriguing to see where they go next with a little bit of breathing space to air out some of those more bombastic tendencies.

Verdict: 3/5
