But it doesn't mean we're gonna hear it anytime soon…

Shavo Odadjian On A New System Of A Down LP: "We Have So Much Material"

Speaking on KROQ's The Kevin & Bean Show, System Of A Down's Shavo Odadjian discussed the problems with releasing a new SOAD record, admitting: “If it was my way, it would be now.”

The bassist spilled the, um, beans on the metal titans' much-publicised conflicts, with guitarist Daron Malakian and frontman Serj Tankian most notably speaking out about the band's issues this year.

Shavo had a sort-of-promising/sort-of-not-promising update on a new System LP, though:

“If it was my way, it would be now. But it’s not, it takes four to tango… I’m hoping – because like I said, for me, we have so much material. We have material for like the last 10-12 years. We all write. So I personally have a lot, Daron has a lot, I know Serj got a lot, but I don’t know… I don’t know what’s going on.

I’m hoping, I’m wishing, you know? We still love each other. There’s nothing… No-one’s done anything wrong. No-one’s angry, it’s not like someone’s done something to someone and they can’t take it back. Nothing like that’s occurred. I think it’s just an artistic thing.”

The bassist also added of System Of A Down's struggles appearing on social media in recent times: “Anything that you’ve read in the last two years, it’s been around for the last ten years. It’s just now coming out because social media is out there.”
