The Internet Is Freaking Out Over a Rumored Van Halen Reunion

The internet is abuzz over the rumor that all four members of Van Halen's classic lineup might be reuniting in 2019 for a stadium tour culminating with a show at Yankee Stadium in New York City.

The excitement started when radio personality Eddie Trunk sparked the rumor on his Sirius XM show, Trunk Nation. Trunk couldn't cite his off-the-record source, but claimed that a well-informed industry contact believes "there indeed will be some Van Halen activity in 2019 in terms of live shows." He mentions that this would potentially include the involvement of original bassist Michael Anthony, but stresses that these are still very much just rumors.

“I hesitate to even talk about this, because every year there’s some rumor about Van Halen about to do something or announce something, and ultimately it just doesn’t happen," Trunk admits. "But, a little more so than normal as we close out 2018, I’m starting to hear some rumblings."

Since the broadcast this weekend, American websites from Loudwire, to Metal Sucks, to Metal Injection have all been discussing the possibility of the Californian band reuniting.
