Are Pearl Jam Teasing A New Album?

It looks like Pearl Jam could be finally gearing up to unveil new music.

This year is already set to be a massive one for Pearl Jam, with the band celebrating their 30th anniversary in 2020, as well as returning to the UK and Europe for some absolutely huge shows.

On top of headlining London’s massive American Express presents BST Hyde Park in July, the Seattle heroes will be taking on venues in Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Italy, Australia, Poland, Hungary, Switzerland, France and The Netherlands throughout the summer.

Now, it looks as though they might be bringing new music with them, as a cryptic teaser on their social media could well suggest that they’re gearing up to announce the highly-anticipated follow-up to 2013 album Lightning Bolt. Last year, members of the band sporadically updated fans and the press on the status of their to-be-announced 11th studio effort, and timeline-wise it makes sense that the release could finally be ready.

“Hopefully we’re going to get that thing done soon,” said guitarist Mike McCready back in April 2019. “It’s been a bit, it’s been a little while… It’s the longest I think we’ve had between records. We’ve got a bunch of songs ready to go… Hopefully it will be out, I don’t have a date on anything yet, though.”

Guitarist Stone Gossard and bassist Jeff Ament also revealed in January that they were “in the middle” of writing the record. This is all sounding extremely promising!

As you can see, fans definitely seem to think there’s a new album on the way…
