Axl Rose Slams Trump In Twitter Rant

The Guns N’ Roses frontman is not happy with the band’s music being used during his political rallies.

In a series of tweets, Axl Rose has told fans that the use of Guns N’ Roses’ music at recent Donald Trump rallies have not been authorised by the band.

The statement comes following the use of their 1988 single Sweet Child O’ Mine during the President’s recent visit to West Virginia.

Just so you know, GN’R, like a lot of artists opposed to the unauthorised use of their music at political events, has formally requested our music not be used at Trump rallies or Trump-associated events,” he tweeted. Unfortunately, the Trump campaign is using loopholes in the various venues’ blanket performance licenses which were not intended for such craven political purposes, without the songwriters’ consent. Can you say shitbags’?

Personally, I kinda liked the irony of Trump supporters listening to a bunch of anti-Trump music at his rallies but I don’t imagine a lot of them really get that or care,” he continues. And when your phone’s blowing up because people are seeing/hearing Sweet Child on the news at a rally… as a band we felt we should clarify our position. Peace!”

Later on, he added: As far as I’m concerned, anyone can enjoy GN’R for whatever reason and there’s truth to the saying you can’t choose your fans’ and we’re good with that.

Having said that, my personal position is that the Trump administration along with the majority of Republicans in Congress and their donors that support him for their own agendas are doing our nation a disservice.

We have an individual in the WH that will say and do anything with no regard for truth, ethics, morals or empathy of any kind, who says what’s real is fake and what’s fake is real.

Who will stop at nothing for power feeding off the anger and resentment he sows 24/7 while constantly whining how whatever doesn’t go his way is unfair.

Most of us in America have never experienced anything this obscene at this level in our lifetime and if we as a country don’t wake up and put an end to this nonsense now, it’s something we definitely will all pay hard for as time goes on.”

It’s not the first time that the Guns N’ Roses frontman has made his thoughts on Donald Trump public.

In January, he tweeted: The White House is the current US gold standard of what can be considered disgraceful.”
