Batushka Replace Dimmu Borgir At Bloodstock Festival

Polish black metallers Batushka have replaced Dimmu Borgir at this weekend's Bloodstock festival.

Dimmu Borgir were scheduled to play the main stage this Sunday (August 11), but have had to cancel their performance due to a band member falling ill.

"Dimmu Borgir regrets to inform you that we have to cancel our appearance at this year's Bloodstock due to illness," say the band in a statement. "The doctors have ordered full rest for minimum one week, and instructed that performing a show this weekend would increase the situation further. We are truly sorry about this, as we had been looking enormously forward to returning to Bloodstock this year. Enjoy the festival, we will see you again soon!"

To coordinate the departure of Dimmu, Queensrÿche will be bumped up into the sub-headliner spot, and Batushka will play underneath them in third billing.

"Bloodstock, we're returning to bring you sorrow and mourning in its full glory!" says Batushka frontman Bartek. "We're bringing you only bitter regrets. Celebrate with us the liturgy of Death. Experience it until it breaks your heart. Here we come in pain, fear, and scarcity! It's time for the Great Vespers! Bloodstock, we will soak your land with DEATH!"

Bloodstock takes place at Catton Park, Derbyshire, on August 8-11. Get your tickets now.
