blink-182 Are Releasing A New Song Called Darkside This Friday

Listen to a 15-second snippet of blink-182’s new song Darkside, set for release this Friday.

It’s all kicking off right now in the blink-182 camp!

Following last week’s announcement that the pop-punk titans’ upcoming new album would be arriving on September 20, this week the band have revealed there will be a new song coming on Friday.

The track goes by the name Darkside, and in their social media tease, blink have posted an accompanying phone number to go with what is presumably its artwork.

If you ring the number – (323) 8310182 – the call plays you this 15-second snippet of the track, which already sounds like an absolute banger.

Now that we finally have a release date and another new song on the way, does this mean we’re any closer to finding out the name of the album? The trio recently revealed that they had a couple of interesting titles in the mix – one of which, BOJMIR, might even stick.

But we’re trying to make it fancy,” joked bassist Mark Hoppus. It’s rimjob spelled backwards but it’s pronounced boh-mir’ – the j’ is silent in this iteration.”

Mark also explained why there was a tiny delay in new material, revealing that the creative juices have been flowing this time around.

We keep writing more and more songs and the songs keep getting better and better,” he said. Originally I thought we were going to have an album out in June, but we keep adding more songs.”
