Caleb Scofield Of Cave In Has Died

Caleb Scofield, bassist/vocalist in Boston metalcore/post-hardcore band Cave In, has died. The pickup truck he was driving crashed at high speed into a toll barrier in Bedford, New Hampshire on Wednesday. He was 39.

Scofield joined Cave In in 1998, shortly before the band released their first proper full length, metalcore classic Until Your Heart Stops, and remained with the band throughout their career.

He also played in Old Man Gloom - an experimental metal band led by former Isis frontman and Hydra Head Records owner Aaron Turner - and fronted Zozobra, a sludge metal power trio that released three albums.

memorial fund has been set up for his wife Jen and two children, Sydney and Desmond.
