Dave Grohl Treats California Wildfire Firefighters To His Own BBQ

The destructive California wildfires have quickly become the state's deadliest ever, with a tragic 42 deaths and thousands of homes lost.

Many members of the rock community have sadly been affected, too – from Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst and Wes Borland, to Tool guitarist Adam Jones. But plenty of rockstars are doing their bit in the community; Halestorm drummer Arejay Hale, for example, has kindly offered his truck to help people in need, while blink-182 are selling a new 'Cali Relief' tee, with 100 per cent of the proceeds being donated to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.

With 8,000 fire crews dispatched to combat the blaze, Foo Fighters legend Dave Grohl has thanked a corner of those workers, bringing his own Backbeat BBQ to firefighters battling the Woolsey Fire in LA.

"It was awesome to get a visit tonight from Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters," posted the Los Angeles County Fire Station 68 on Instagram. "He also treated us to some of his own Backbeat BBQ. Thanks Dave! It was excellent!"
