Drummer Janet Weiss Leaves Sleater-Kinney

Sleater-Kinney are back, but with a new drummer.

It’s a sad day for Sleater-Kinney fans. In the midst of their revival, consisting of a new album The Center Won’t Hold and a North American and European tour, drummer Janet Weiss is leaving the band. 

Janet announced her departure this morning in a tweet:

The band posted a response on their Instagram:

Unfortunately, this is all very vague, and fans are making up conspiracies and even selling their tickets in protest. It’s unknown who will be playing drums for their tours this fall. 

Since people are selling tickets, go ahead and buy one to a date near you:
