One of Glastonbury’s coolest spots, the Earache Records takeover at Shangri-La, will be hosting Bob Vylan, Kneecap, Delilah Bon and more this year…
Growing old disgracefully.
When you think of nursing homes, you think of stairlifts and midday naps. You don't, however, likely think of head-banging or corpse paint. And yet, Deutsche Welle reports that two elderly German men escaped from their nursing home on Friday to go to Wacken Open Air, the biggest metal festival in the world.
The nursing home alerted police after the men were discovered to be missing from the home.
Police then found the defiant old metalheads at 3am on the festival grounds - according to police they were "disoriented and dazed." Which is less a symptom of old age than a symptom of being at Wacken at 3am.
The men were understandably not keen to leave the fest, but the buzzkill police escorted them home via taxi and a patrol car.
"They obviously liked the metal festival," police spokeswoman Merle Neufeld told German public broadcaster Norddeutscher Rundfunk. "The care home quickly organised a return transport after police picked them up."
If anyone has a link to these two legends, we'd like to talk to them. What a pair of heroes.
