Fall Out Boy's Patrick Stump Is Composing The Score For An Alice In Wonderland-Inspired Film

Fall Out Boy's Patrick Stump is no stranger to composing movie scores (having had credits in Gnome Alone and the forthcoming Seth Green film Changeland), and now he's set to add a third title to his CV: Wonderland.

The modern adaptation of Lewis Carrol's Alice In Wonderland is set to go into production next month, and is set to "further the conversation about women in the entertainment industry, and the inequality in Hollywood".

FOB's frontman is, unsurprisingly, excited about getting involved in the project. “That story has been told a lot of different ways before, a lot of different versions,” he tells Entertainment Weekly, “and the thing that really grabbed me was the voice of the writing – I can see this.”

Explaining the difference between writing for the Chicago pop-punks, and composing for a movie, Patrick continues: “When you’re doing a score, it’s kind of like acting, really, because you have to get in the head of a character, whereas with Fall Out Boy, if I’m writing a song, I’m going to have to get on stage every night and sing that. It’s really for me. Writing a song is more – not selfish, but you’re focused on what you would want, whereas in a film you’re just focused on telling the story.”
