Former 3 Doors Down Bassist Faces More Prison Time After Allegedly Having Drugs Mailed To Him In Jail

The Sun Herald reports that former bassist of Trump inauguration-playing rock band 3 Doors Down, Todd Harrell, was arrested on Friday, charged with the crime of introducing narcotics into a correctional facility. The drugs were found during a routine screening of the incoming mail to the Jackson County Jail, Mississippi, where Harrell has been since June after he was arrested on a charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Harrell was arrested eight weeks ago after police went to his home. Harrell's wife told deputies they had gotten into a fight, and while deputies were talking to the couple they spotted guns and drugs around the home. They called the narcotics unit, who got a search warrant, and Harrell was taken into custody.

In 2013, Harrell was charged with vehicular homicide in Nashville for driving drunk and killing a 47-year-old. While awaiting trial on that charge, Harrell was arrested again on a DUI charge for driving under the influence of drugs. At that point he was fired from 3 Doors Down. Harrell pleaded guilty in 2015 and was sentenced to two years in prison.

If he's convicted of this new charge, he'll be facing a maximum of seven years behind bars.

This sounds like a sad situation and we hope he gets the help he needs.
