Funko Are Releasing A Danger Days-Era Gerard Way POP! Vinyl

Brace yourselves, My Chemical Romance fans: a Danger Days-era Gerard Way POP! vinyl is coming.

My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way has already been immortalised in POP! vinyl form several times, with Funko releasing some extremely popular variants based on the band’s Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge and The Black Parade albums. But the striking visuals for their fourth record Danger Days clearly makes for an equally as awesome figure – and soon, Gerard’s alter-ego Party Poison will be able to live on your shelf, too.

That’s right, Funko have announced that they will release a Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys-era Gerard Way as a Hot Topic Exclusive, with the company revealing: “Your favourite frontman has been given the Funko Pop! makeover! This vinyl figure features Gerard Way from the Danger Days era.”

This red-haired, post-apocalyptic figure is available for pre-order now, but is expected to ship in November – which is still a little while away, so will thankfully be out there in time for My Chem’s rescheduled reunion tour dates in 2021.

Of course, The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys was also released as a comic as a limited series in 2013, with Gerard explaining at the time: “The original idea for the comic informed the record. The record helped refine the idea, and then Becky [Cloonan, artist] had done a drawing of the Girl for the single The Only Hope for Me Is You and I saw it and thought, this is the comic. It’s basically the last video, it’s the last part of the Killjoys story, while at the same time being totally its own thing.”
