Ghost’s Tobias Forge joins The Hellacopters for impressive Rolling Stones cover

Watch Ghost’s Tobias Forge and The Hellacopters cover The Rolling Stones’ Sympathy For The Devil on Swedish TV.

Over the weekend, Ghosts Tobias Forge – otherwise known onstage as Papa Emeritus IV – joined fellow Swedes The Hellacopters for a genuinely brilliant cover of The Rolling Stones’ Sympathy For The Devil.

The artists tackled the 1968 Beggars Banquet classic on Swedish TV show På Spåret, with Tobias’ vocals in particular really flourishing throughout – from the song’s quieter opening moments, to full-on belting out Mick Jagger’s lines towards the end of the track.

And hopefully this is just the start of a year of busy activity from Ghost. In October 2020, Tobias stated that he was going to be writing the follow-up to 2018’s Prequelle up until Christmas, with the band then recording new music this month and hopefully releasing a record after the summer” of 2021. He did add, though, that Ghost won’t release an album until we know that we are actually going to tour”. So we’ll have to wait and see on that front.

In the meantime, Tobias, we’ll happily take more covers like this, please…
