The nominations for this year's MTV EMAs have been announced – with the likes of Green Day, twenty one pilots, Machine Gun Kelly, Pearl Jam and more all up for awards.
The Best Rock category will see Green Day and Pearl Jam battle it out against Coldplay, Liam Gallagher, Tame Impala and The Killers, while the award for Best Alternative could go to Machine Gun Kelly, twenty one pilots, Hayley Williams, blackbear, FKA Twigs or The 1975.

Meanwhile, ahead of the release of his second album Weird! on November 13, YUNGBLUD could be in with a chance of winning two gongs on the night: Best New and Best Push. In the former group he's up against BENEE, DaBaby, Doja Cat, Jack Harlow and Roddy Ricch, while in the latter he's got BENEE, Brockhampton, Conan Gray, Doja Cat, Georgia, Jack Harlow, Lil Tecca, Tate McRae and Wallows to beat.
Elsewhere, Post Malone's brilliant Nirvana tribute livestream has deservedly been nominated for Best Virtual Live.
