GWAR To Unveil Dave Brockie Memorial In August

GWAR’s memorial unveiling will be held August 30th, with a party the following day.

It’s been five years since iconic shock rocker Dave Brockie, better known as bloodthirsty overlord Oderus Urungus of thrash metal aliens GWAR, passed away. The band will now be honoring their vocalist, leader, and friend with his own memorial marker.

The monument will be revealed on August 30th, which would have been Brockie’s 56th birthday, in Richmond, Virgina’s own Hollywood Cemetery. Not only are all invited to the unveiling of the marker, but in typical GWAR fashion, the band will also be hosting a free party the next day at the GWARbar. The party will host a performance by RAWG, which is said to be a stripped-down tribute band to GWAR. Fans in the Virginia area should mark their calendars for both these dates to pay tribute to the man behind the mask of the greatest band from space.

GWAR will be heading out on their headlining tour shortly after with Sacred Reich, Toxic Holocaust, and Against The Grain. Dates are listed below:
