Royal Blood have shared a cool-as-hell cover of Sad But True for The Metallica Blacklist album.

The Brighton duo – Mike Kerr (vocals, bass) and Ben Thatcher (drums) – take a relatively faithful approach for their rendition of the 1991 metal classic, adding a few Royal Blood-y touches here and there along the way. Perfect.

The Metallica Blacklist as a whole is due out on September 10 via Blackened Recordings, and includes a whopping 53 reworkings of the The Black Album's 12 tracks by Biffy Clyro, Weezer, Corey Taylor, Ghost, Miley Cyrus, Elton John, IDLES and loads more!

"Our cover of Sad But True for The Metallica Blacklist is out now," Royal Blood say. "It was an honour to be asked to be a part of this, and we're very happy to be supporting the All Within My Hands Foundation and Chestnut Tree House."
