Here’s twenty one pilots’ setlist from their first proper show since 2019

A full backing band! A My Chemical Romance cover! Scaled And Icy songs live for the first time! Yep, twenty one pilots’ first show back looked like a right treat…

Ahead of their own proper headline 2021/2022 Takeøver Tour, twenty one pilots returned to the stage last night (September 4) to play Milwaukee’s huge Summerfest.

Though Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun of course debuted several of their new stage tricks and typically grand plans during the mind-blowing Scaled And Icy livestream earlier in the year, this was the pair’s first proper chance to unveil their next era in front of fans… and boy oh boy, did they go all-out.

twenty one pilots’ mammoth 20-song setlist at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater naturally boasted plenty of new tunes from this year’s ace Scaled And Icy album, as well as some surprise covers – the biggest and most awesome being a snippet of My Chemical Romances classic I’m Not Okay during Shy Away.

Elsewhere, Tyler and Josh properly introduced their new backing band to the world, switched things up in terms of Josh’s set-staple drum island (which now takes place during Saturday), and just generally boasted an all-new stage show featuring plenty of brighter colours to match the aesthetics of Scaled And Icy. Ooooft!
