Here’s Where Every Sample From Slipknot’s Debut Comes From

From Ice Cube to Slayer, here’s who Slipknot sampled on their self-titled debut.

We’ve already examined where Slipknot’s ‘The whole thing, I think it’s sick’ sample came from, but now YouTube channel Eightminutesupsidedown has now posted a six minute video that showcases the origins of most of the samples included on Slipknot’s self-titled album.

Among these samples are lines from movies, rhythms from songs, sound effects from games, and more. Movies include The Exorcist (1973), Falling Down (1993) and Carlito’s Way (1983), and songs like South Of Heaven by Slayer, Brother by The Winstons, and Man’s Best Friend by Ice Cube.

You can see all of them below:

Slipknot have in the past claimed that some of the voices on these samples are their own. Whether they were confused about the origins of these sound bytes, or were just trying to maintain the band’s mystique, is anyone’s guess.
