Highlives Premiere New Single, Better Days

Highlives are premiering their brand new video, Better Days, exclusively with Kerrang!

Better Days is the lead single from the band’s upcoming EP, Misguided Youth, which is due to be released on December 11. Listen to the track below and don’t forget to download it from highlives.bandcamp.com

Talking about the video, the band says, “Better Days is a song which initially drew the inspiration for the title of our EP ‘Misguided Youth’. The video follows a young homeless boy on a journey through his everyday routine, during which he encounters both good and bad people. The song is about how easy it is to get drawn into bad situations through your younger years, and the line ‘truth is, we’ve all seen better days’ plays as a reassurance that everyone experiences this at some point in their lives, and that no one is experiencing them alone. In the video, the boy comes in contact with the wrong person and gets himself into trouble.”

“However, towards the end he is saved by a man, who’s day is also portrayed in the video. This symbolises the fact that everything will be okay in the end. The man is a successful character, who’s life is compared to the boy’s throughout the video. The song touches on what it’s like to see people close to you push through the struggles of growing up, as well as reflecting on personal experiences.”
