Joe Perry Is “Doing Well” Following Collapse

The Aerosmith guitarist gives fans health update following hospitalisation at the weekend.

Aerosmith legend Joe Perry has updated fans following a reported collapse backstage after a gig at Madison Square Garden last weekend.

The guitarist made a guest appearance at a Billy Joel show in New York City, for a performance of Walk This Way. After the gig, Perry suffered from a shortness of breath and was “treated backstage by paramedics who gave the guitarist oxygen and used a tracheal tube to clear his airway before taking him to a hospital”, according to a spokesperson.

Last night, the guitarist took to social media to say that he was “doing well” and thanked fans for their love and support.

The guitarist is due to begin a 10-date tour with Aerosmith bandmate Brad Whitford and Extreme vocalist Gary Cherone at the end of the month.
