King Diamond Announces North American Tour, Reveals New Album Details

Satanic ringmaster King Diamond will tour with Uncle Acid and Idle Hands this fall — and has a new album in the works!

When it comes to metal that doesn’t pull any punches, few if any artists can match King Diamond. The falsetto-wielding satanist and former Mercyful Fate frontman has always done things his own way, which usually involves elaborate set pieces, shrieking ghosts, and evil shred metal. Now, the King has announced that he’ll be taking his show on the road in North America this fall — and that he’s working on his first new album in 12 years!

King Diamond’s new album will be called The Institute, and will hopefully feature the new track that he debuted at Hellfest this year. Commenting on the record, his majesty says the following:

For reasons unknown to you, it is clear that you have no way of making it to The Institute’ on your own at this point. Therefore, we will bring THE INSTITUTE to you.

You don’t want to miss this special opportunity for treatment only we can give you. It could be for your own good, you know…”

If that weren’t enough, King Diamond will tour North America this November with sleaze merchants Uncle Acid and The Deadbeats and trad-metallers Idle Hands along for the ride. The tour poster below has a bunch of asylum imagery in it, so one wonders if that’s the running theme of The Institute.
