Machine Gun Kelly teams up with Kellin Quinn for love race video
Last month, Machine Gun Kelly surprise-released a new song, love race. Like last year’s Tickets To My Downfall album, it mainlined 2001-era pop-punk and had blink-182’s Travis Barker on drums. It also featured Sleeping With Sirens frontman Kellin Quinn.
Now Kels has dropped the video. Set in an emo summer camp – Emo Pointe – it finds MGK playing a be-braced emo nerd being dropped off by his mother, ready for a summer of outdoor fun and activity. And, as it turns out, a Jason Voorhees-esque maniac who picks off campers and staff – including Kellin as a lifeguard, along with various dead famous influencer types – with the aid of things like alligators and their own dismembered limbs.
It’s been a big week for MGK. On Monday he attended the Billboard awards, and went home at the end of the night two awards richer, having scooped the gongs for Top Rock Artist and Album. Presumably for good luck, he painted his tongue black for the occasion. Look, we don’t understand it either, but if it works, we’re not arguing against it.
Emo Nite Vegas Vacation is happening this October – and it features performances by the likes of Avril Lavigne, Travis Barker, Sleeping With Sirens and more.
Watch the video for IDLES’ new single The Beachland Ballroom – the “most important song” on their upcoming album Crawler, according to vocalist Joe Talbot.
