Metallica, KISS And Post Malone Among Highest-Paid Celebrities Of 2020
While touring is unfortunately on pause for now amid the coronavirus pandemic, it hasn’t stopped a number of bands and artists making it into Forbes’ Celebrity 100: their annual list of the highest-paid celebrities.
The media company note that there’s been a $200 million drop from last year’s combined total across the celebs involved (2020’s top 100 have made $6.1 billion between them), but even so, extensive tours from Metallica, KISS and Post Malone before COVID-19 have secured all three places in the list.

California’s finest Metallica are at #78 in Forbes’ 100 highest-paid celebrities, having brought in a whopping $40.5m as of April 4, 2020 thanks to the success of their WorldWired Tour. The epic run of shows kicked off all the way back in 2016 and has grossed more than $400 million, though the band were planning on bringing it to a close by the end of the year (hopefully, to work on a new album?).
Glam rockers KISS, meanwhile, are slightly further back in the list, coming in at #95 with $36.5m. Still, it’s their first time appearing since 2001, with Forbes noting: “The elaborately-costumed rockers grossed $90 million on the road in 2019, just about as much as superstars Phil Collins and Shawn Mendes.”
As for Posty, it’s no surprise that the rapper is all the way up at #28, reportedly grossing over $1.3 million per city during his most recent tour. He’s brought in a huge $60m, with the total being made up of touring, sales for his latest album Hollywood’s Bleeding, a Bud Light Seltzer endorsement, and his own Maison No. 9 rosé.
These are all absolutely colossal numbers, of course – though they don’t come anywhere near this year’s #1 entry: Kylie Jenner with $590 million…
It’s happening, people! Metallica are back together at their headquarters – and they’ve been jamming iconic Ride The Lightning single Creeping Death.
They’ve sold millions of records across the globe – but which twenty one pilots album is actually their greatest?
